Yoohoo. I’ll meet you at Friends of Mine.
And you can’t miss it. With its yellow awnings, the white-washed brick building is set on the corner of Swan and Stawell Street.
With its homely vibe, the cherry yellow colour scheme is upheld inside, with yellow china pairing nicely with the warm decor—exposed brick walls, chandeliers and timber furnishings.
Sectioned, the front is finished with communal tables and bar stools, whilst the back is more restaurant-like, with linen tablecloths, glassware and high-backed seats.
Owner Jason Jones—previous Porgie, Mr Jones and Snow Pony—designed his menu to suit the setting, warm and inviting.
- Toasted homemade banana bread, maple syrup, mascarpone, fresh banana, macerated berries and pistachios for $16.9
Cured salmon gravlax, poached eggs, smashed peas, beetroot relish, feta, croutons, caper dressing for $19.9
Slow roasted lamb lion, kipfler potato, tomato, red pepper salsa and jus for $24.9
Who is there?
With many of the cafe’s Instagram captions beginning with,” When curing a hangover…”, “Soothe the soul with…” and “Monday morning necessity” all ending with the hashtag, hungover, patrons actually vary, from families to best friends curing a hangover.
